Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy

Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is a treatment option for people with heart failure who have an abnormal heart rhythm known as ventricular dyssynchrony. This condition occurs when the ventricles, the lower chambers of the heart, do not contract at the same time, leading to a less efficient pumping of blood throughout the body. CRT involves implanting a device called a biventricular pacemaker that paces both the left and right ventricles of the heart concurrently, thereby improving the heart's ability to pump blood throughout the body.

CRT is typically recommended for people who have symptoms of heart failure, such as shortness of breath, fatigue, and swelling in the legs, or who have already tried optimal medical therapy for heart failure but have not experienced significant improvement in symptoms.

CRT implantation requires incredible technical expertise of a cardiac electrophysiologist, who has good knowledge in handling these devices. With significant experience in implanting cardiac devices, including CRT devices, Dr. DCR has specialized training in electrophysiology and is up-to-date on the latest technology and techniques related to CRT. He also proctors doctors at various centers in India to implant these devices safely and efficiently. Please refer to the videos (link) to learn more about the complex CRTs for heart failure patients implanted by Dr. DCR.
